Located off the coastal Rt 1 route to Acadia National Park, Surry Gardens makes a great stop in a trip to any of the attractions in the greater Ellsworth area. Surry Gardens has been in operation for more than 30 years as a full service nursery and later began offering landscaping services as well. As it is one of the only nurseries to stay open year-round in the area it is a favorite of locals and summertime vistors as well. It's hard to describe a specialty of the nursery, as the offerings are staggering in many categories from shrubs to annuals to fruits, but the selection of perennials for shade and sun is fantastic with plants often offered in sizes from inexspensive 2 inch pots on up to gallons and larger. The nursery is also well-known for its selection of herbs, with many unusual varieties. The nursery is located about 10 miles from Rt. 1.
